We literally could not help ourselves we love love any and every red carpet. Olivia and I will text back and forth our favorite dresses on the red carpet regularly so it made perfect sense to do a post! It being award season these are the best of the best (besides the Met Ball of course!). When picking our faves we are looking for different, unique, and a little risky. I know what your thinking, we are mostly an Interior Design blog but if you do not think fashion and home interiors intermingle you are mistaken! 🙂 We had so much fun putting this together. Enjoy!
Natalie Portman: JACKIE O! This Prada gown is to die for and the color alone is enough to make it a standout! Add on top the simplicity of the cut, the modest embellishment, a baby bump… and those lips! We love!
Kerry Washington: Wearing Dolce &Gabbana. Kerry always delivers something a little different and unique on the red carpet. Sometimes the risk is worth it and sometimes not. This time it was SO worth it. Another vision of yellow with a totally different vibe. I love the play on structured/military bodice with the femininity of the lace. Such a wonderful balance.
Olivia Culpo: Wearing Zuhair Murad. What a head turner! Love it or hate it this dress makes you react. It looks like a beautiful painting of an Italian city. Such a piece of art.
Tracee Ellis Ross: Wearing Zuhair Murad again. I feel like we have seen again and again this sheer beaded bodice dress. However this cut and cool modern length took it to a different level. Love the exaggerated rings with no other jewelry. Simple but dramatic.
Queen Goldie: I mean do we even need to say anything! Wearing Prabal Gurung. Anyone that knows me knows I am obsessed with Goldie Hawn. A angel from heaven. Period.. The End.
Ruth Negga: Wearing Louis Vuitton. Another metallic favorite. Metallic was a huge trend last night but this one stood out the most. It literally looks like someone poured liquid silver on her body. The tailoring is impeccable and the detailing is so intricate. You can’t even see one of the best parts of the dress, which is the buckled side panels that complement the zipper detail so well.
Best dressed man in our book goes to Donald Glover. You will never hear us say that’s too much velvet. We don’t even think it! Instead of the classic white or black tuxedo he wore a luxurious “tobacco” velvet Gucci suit. Yum!
Last but not least goes to best couple, Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn. There is not much to say here then hollywood royalty! Classy, funny, and talented. They win at everything.
