get your design fix
1) Furniture- This doesn’t have to all match! A lot of retail stores market buying entire collections of crib, dresser, changing table, and accessory piece. While this is a great option it isn’t your only option. In my personal and many nurseries that Coomer & Co. has designed we opted to mix and match pieces for a more collected look. A good example of mixing and matching is in my son’s nursery. We used a white Da Vinci Jenny Lind crib, a grey Bassett dresser (personal hardware), a Largo Acaia/Metal bookcase, and a Best Furniture swivel glider to create our mix & match nursery. It is all about creating cohesion in the entire space. *A personal tip, you can use your dresser as a changing table if you need to save space!
In the latest Fixer Upper I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a plaid mosaic used as an accent in a kitchen and being a lover of all things plaid I had to investigate pronto! I picked up my phone and as one does… googled away. I stumbled across several images of gorgeous accent walls, bathrooms, and back splashes using a plaid mosaic tile! We are officially obsessed!
When I first heard about the Pantone color of the year being Greenery I was excited. However was very surprised when I saw how bold the shade of green was they selected. After reading the description it’s more about a movement of bringing the lush outdoors inside!

Looking forward into 2017 I always like to reference certain paint companies predictions for their colors of the year. This year I looked at Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore and picked my top nine favorites. There are so many fabulous colors this year it was so hard to pick. I ended up going with the ones that inspired me the most and can’t wait to use!
